If you think Ibiza is all about party, you are wrong. Thousands of years of history can be explored on this island and you will have a hard time to put all the possible activities into your schedule.

Depending on your interest, the visit of a few of the beautiful Catholic churches on the island can be an eye-opener and allow you a glance both into the history of the island as well as the Catholic tradition of Spain. Be sure to obey the dress code of a church. Visiting a church in flip-flops and your shorts is a huge no-no and you might be denied entrance and some churches with this outfit.

Another option to spend your time on this island is to explore the various hippie markets on Ibiza. Back in the early 1970s a large group of young people that belonged to the hippie movement set up camp on the island and a few of them are still there. This hippie heritage is one of the major elements that made this island so popular and visiting one of these markets allows you to guess what it must have been like in the 70s.

If you are interested in landscape and scenery in general, we might recommend paying a visit to the salt flats, which are also known as the Las Salinas. Once the water of the salt fields evaporates, it gives the surrounding environment a wonderful shiny look that is absolutely amazing and should be seen at least once-in-a-lifetime.
